Here is the reason that we will never get things running correctly. I understand the debate du jour that one side says services need to be maintained, and the other that says taxing revenue is high enough. Services, and the pensions of the providers that go along with them, are pretty well distributed to the needy IMO. On the other hand it appears that the level of taxation of is at historic lows as a percentage of the economy.
Both sides over simplify to say either raise more money or redistribute a skewed economic spectrum. Regrettably neither side moves very far from these positions. Perhaps their hearts are in the wrong place, that is the protection of constituents and special interests. The bottom line is accountability, fairness, and results...... all deficient in my life time by government.
We need to get what we are paying for. Corporations and individuals that usurp, distort, shortcut, or in any way take advantage of a centralized distribution of taxpayer money or services need to be punished.
Not accounting for $1 Trillion dollars is unethical and an abuse of trust. How about we cut the budget for every unaccounted for dollar?
